Joanne, Katherine, Alex and family. I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Glenn. I had the privilege and pleasure of working with him in a number of places - SRNA, U of S and U of R. He was a dedicated, visionary and caring nurse and even more dedicated and proud of his family - he always had a story about each of you and kept me up to date almost daily on what you were each doing. The addition of Stetsin made him even prouder. He will be missed by many but most especially by each of you. I hope your many memories keep his memory vibrant.
Sincerely
Robin and Jack

I was sad to hear of Glenn's passing. He accomplished so much and had an amazing career. I just remember Glenn mostly from our growing up a short distance from his mom and dad's farm. I have a lot of memories of play from that time including a pet 'funeral' in which Glenn 'officiated' using a long black skirt of his mom's as his minister's robe, fastened around his neck. :) So glad he found a career that he loved and to which he contributed so much. My condolences to all his extended family.

It's no small thing to say that Glenn influenced and directed the course of my life. He hired me when no on else in the province saw the value in a paediatric NP. He was the every supportive and encouraging boss who would always find a way to laugh when dealing with my difficult students. He's supply me with arms full of random, but useful, textbooks - which is a great gift from one academic to another. No matter how many books I had on my shelf, he had more. He was the boss we all wanted and was constantly encouraging me to strive for more. I will always miss his random phone calls that would abruptly end in his unique way.
My condolences to his family. Glenn will be missed.

We are so very saddened to hear of Glenn’s passing. After many years of not having contact with one another we finally got together over a phone call earlier this year. Glenn had written a letter and Joanne delivered it to our daughter Tegan at RGH. She called us to read his letter. This opened the door to renewing a friendship that I thought was lost. I phoned Glenn and even after ten plus years we picked up as if we had just been speaking to one another the other day. Thank you Joanne for getting the letter to us. We spoke to one another several times with the last call from Glenn roughly two weeks ago. In that call he wanted to be sure to ask about the health of our daughter. I assured him she was doing well. In spite of his own health issues he wanted to be sure our family was ok. And that was our friend Glenn, always there to provide kindness and care to those in need. His chosen profession, skill and accomplishments was not a surprise to those who knew him, but rather expected from someone so dedicated to the welfare of others. Blessings to all of the family at this most difficult time. Marvin/Bette McClay

Joanne, Katherine and Alexandra, I offer my sincere sympathy and support on the death of your beloved husband and father. I worked with Glenn in so many organizations and capacities over the years of our nursing careers, and the one constant was how much he loved and admired you three, and then his beloved grand-daughter when Stetsin arrived. Glenn influenced and led hundreds of nurses and other health care providers over his long career, all of whom learned about his unwaversing focus on what was best for the patient/client/resident and their families. His legacy will live on in all those he touched, including you.
God bless you,
Dr. Marlene Smadu, RN (Retired), EdD, PhD

We were so sorry to hear of Glenn's passing. He lived with us when he first started his career in nursing; he was a student at Kelsey Institute in Saskatoon at that time. We shared many a bottle of wine with Glenn and his friends from Stoughton: Karen and Kevin Gray, Shirley Kerr, Larry Richardson, etc., etc. Glenn was smart and funny and dedicated, he loved our children and fit into our family well. There is still a note on the laundry room wall (I have painted around it many times) that Glenn wrote: "get the g....d.... laundry done so I can have a shower". One bathroom and poor water pressure....ha ha ha.
Condolences to Joanne, Alexandra and Kathern. He was a fine man and leaves us with many memories.
