Obituary of Lonister Wayd Petruic

On June 30, 2021, Lonister Wayd Petruic, loving husband of Kathy Petruic, passed away at the age of 72. He was born on January 11, 1949 to Dan and Marion Petruic. Lon was predeceased by his parents; parents-in-law, Bill and Susie Hiebert; step-son, Earl Harder and step-daughter-in-law Roxanne Harder. To mourn his passing, he leaves behind his loving wife, Kathy Petruic; children, David (Keri), Corey, Deborah (Colin) Mackenzie, and Wayd (Brittany); step-children, Sheila (Scott), Laura, Leroy (Jill) and Sharon; grandchildren, Noah, Seth, Alexander, Jordan and Nigil Mackenzie, Rayleigh, Cohen, Emarie, Tenessa (Hayden), Kayla, James (Dani), Zack (Jenna), Lance, Vanessa, Christian, Faith, Alyssa, Tristan, Weston, Benny, Rina and Janie; great-granddaughters, Tessa, Ryleigh, Madison, and Dezraie-May. Lon will also be missed by his loving fur babies, Sandi (Dog), Boots and Smokey (Cats); brothers and sisters-in-law, Marie (John) Funk, Cornie (Anne) Hiebert, John (Becky) Hiebert, George (Betty) Hiebert, Dick (Karen, Anne) Hiebert, Joy (Ivan) Duchcherer, Liz (Archie) Chabot, Marge (Harold) Trapp, Abe (Bernice) Hiebert, Frieda (Ernie) Froese, Esther (Bob) Banman, Ruth Hiebert, and Susan (Gary) Friesen. Thank you to the Broadview Hospital Nursing Staff, the Paramedics, Pharmasave in Fort Qu’Appelle, Allan Blair Cancer Clinic Staff and Doctors, Home Care workers, Home Care Nurses, Dr. Neumeen Yousef and to everyone that has been visiting and helping with whatever was needed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the memory of Lon Petruic to the Allan Blair Cancer Clinic, 200-4545 Parliament Ave, Regina, SK S4W 0G3, the Broadview Hospital, 901 Nina St., Broadview, SK S0G 0K0, or any charity of your choice. Visitation will take place at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. Private Service, by invitation only, will be held on Sunday, July 4, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow in Moose Jaw.
