Dave, Fletcher, Leanne, Amy and families,
Peace be with you as you mourn the loss of this lovely woman. Some of my favourite memories of Marj were when she and my late husband Al were painting the walls of the not-yet-opened Heritage United Church, and laughing and bantering as they painted - Marj meticulously and Al not so much. Marj and I worked closely as chair and vice-chair of Heritage Council and we had many visits during Saskatchewan Conference meetings and elsewhere over the years after she went into ordered ministry. Marj was one of the kindest souls I've known. The United Church of Canada and many of tis people have benefitted much from her gifts.
I love the story of the blue shirt. I remember running into your family at Madge Lake one summer many years ago. I don't recall noticing her blue shirt, but I do remember the big smile that was always on her face and our walk down to the water together that day. May you find solace in the memories of your precious loved one and know that I and my family are among the many who are holding you in our hearts.

My family and I extend our deepest condolence to Marj’s family. I first had the privilege of knowing Marj when she was secretary of Saskatchewan Conference. I instantly admired her efficiency, warm, wisdom and wit. She radiated charm and joy. We had many more encounters over the years including the time she lived in my neighborhood. We had a very pleasant exchange when I bumped into her at the grocery store recently. She had many admirers, including one who wished she would consider being the elected leader of the United Church. But she was more about serving at the grassroots, where she was extremely gifted. Well done good and faithful servant.

Marjorie was a wonderful friend and colleague, and I feel blessed to have had her in m life for so many years. She was part of the Saskatchewan Conference Sexual Abuse Network for many years, and used her gift of creativity to create many resources for that community. Her commitment to that work was unwavering. Her analysis and insights were always a gift to any group she joined. Marj also had a wicked sense of humour. She was fun and funny, and oh, how she will be missed. Dave and family, my heart is with you in your grief.

Marjorie was both friend and a mentor for me in the United Church and in our community. We first met At Heritage United Church. Our sons and husbands participated in, and provided leadership in, Cubs and Boy Scouts together in Regina and Marj and I were on many committees together at our home church and in some of the wider church's, local, provincial and national. She was smart as a whip with a dry, but very funny, sense of humour. We shared a love of learning and growing in our faith and our understanding of what we call 'God'. Both of us went into ministry but in different pathways. We loved to explore theology and discuss it whenever we met up. She was always up for a theological discussion and always quick to brag about her children and all of their accomplishments as well as commiserate with me when we shared the struggles of raising teenagers and watching young adults make and learn from their own mistakes and celebrated together their achievements'. To all of the family, Will and I send our condolences and our prayers for all of you. She will be missed. Kim & Will Antosh and family.

Marj was a one-of-a-kind woman and faith leader. I will always be grateful for the years I knew her, when we packed in so many big moments: my confirmation, my wedding, and my son's baptism. She was an enormous part of my return to the church as an adult, and I remain in awe of her conviction in what she believed.
Sending peace, love, strength, and courage to all those who knew her, and are undoubtedly better people for it.

To Dave, Fletcher, Leanne, Amy and families.
We were shocked and saddened to hear of Marjorie's death. I remember first meeting Marj in my days in ministry at Grenfell and then when I went to Heritage it was great to get to know her more. She was such a joyful and strong presence.
I trust that you are finding the strength to walk the way as you grieve. May you know that you being held by a wide community of friends - even as far as Ottawa.
May peace be with you.

I met Marj when she made the decision to go into ministry. I encouraged her to apply for the UCW Bursary for students at St. Andrew's. She did and I was at her interview for that financial help. Her bravery and determination to take Amy to Saskatoon for her time at St. A.'s was amazing. Yet, because of her positivity, it all worked out.
She later became my representative to the Conference Staff Committee, at a difficult time in my life on Conf. Staff.
She did her best as always.
I am pleased that my sister and I visited St. Andrew's, Lumsden, in the autumn of 2018, and I was able to introduce Marjorie to my sister. She was fabulous with the children--I've never seen anything better!.
Love to the family,
Wilma Bell Wessel

When I heard the news of Marjorie's passing today, I could not believe that she is gone from among us. Marjorie was such a special person and I will always remember the visits shared at Sask. Conference meetings and other places where our paths would cross. And sometimes many months would go by before we would see each other again, but when we did, it was like no time had passed and we would just pick up where we left off. Marj was such a positive, passionate, loving and generous person with a smile that could light up a room She will be missed. She will be remembered with fondness.....

My sincere condolences to Marj's family. I first met her at St. Andrew's College and continued to meet up with her again at Conference and College events. She was indeed a bright, warm and loving light in a world too often dark. May she be fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched. Her joy and desire to make the world a better place are a good example for all of us. Rest in peace, Marjorie. Sheila Lavender, Saskatoon

We are so shocked and saddened to hear of Marj's passing. St. Andrew's United Church is my first and home church. Crystal and I were members there in about 2012 for about 12 months and commuted from Regina and were in the choir there. Marj treated us super special and from the first day she met us smiled and treated us with the upmost respect and love. For many years, we drove my Late Mom to the Christmas Eve service at St. Andrew's. Sometimes, we had not seen Marj for 12 months. She went out of her way to come and hug and say hi to us. She always remembered our names. In the days since her passing, I have thought of people that she knew and I have told them of her passing. When my Mom passed away a few years ago, we had a private family graveside service that Marj administered. We were in massive tears but having Marj there, helped to calm us down. Marj, we will miss you terribly for ever and ever. Until we meet again. Blaine and Crystal Dodds, Regina.

I was so shocked and saddened to read of Marjorie’s death. We were best friends years ago in Grenfell and continued our friendship when she studied in Winnipeg. She used to practise her back pummelling on me for her physiotherapy course. We laughed a lot. We connected a few times in the ensuing years but not enough as our lives unfolded in different places. I have so many memories bubbling up as I look at this picture of her. My heart goes out to Dave and their kids and to her mom Doreen and brother Earl. Much love to all.
