Obituary of Joan Ferguson

Joan Ferguson passed away on Friday, July 16, 2021 in her 98^th year. Joan is survived by her children, Phyllis Ferguson (Lindsay Bottomer) of North Vancouver, John Ferguson (Connie) of New Hampshire, and Patricia Warsaba (Ron) of Regina. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Jan (Jeremy), Tim (Elizabeth), Bree, Spencer, and Reid. In addition, Joan is survived by four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Ross Ferguson; her son Ralph Ferguson; and her siblings, Mary, Ralph and Nancy Bunting. Joan was born in England and immigrated to Kelwood, Manitoba as an infant. She grew up in Kelwood and then attended normal school to be a teacher. Joan taught in several places in Manitoba, including Goodlands, where she met and married her husband Ross in 1949. Ross and Joan started their family in Goodlands on the family farm before moving to various places in Manitoba, ultimately spending many years in Ninga, Manitoba before retiring to Boissevain, Manitoba. Joan was very involved with St. Paul’s United Church in Boissevain. She moved to Regina in 2013 to be closer to family. The family appreciates the loving care she received from the nursing and care staff at Victoria Park Care Home. An Interment Ceremony will be held in Boissevain, Manitoba at a later date.
