Our aunt Joan Holden was a dear and cherished part of our family and our lives. Her fearless spirit and caring heart defined the wonderful person that she was. We’ll miss her unique sense of discipline and how she “walked to live” and lived to nurture. Our thoughts are with our family and the many friends and acquaintances that knew and loved Aunt Joan. I am so very sorry to hear of Joan's passing. One of the kindest people I’ve ever known. I admired her intelligence, her sense of humor, her love for her family and her ability to overcome adversity. The gradual loss of her eyesight didn’t stop her from living life to its fullest. She was someone that knew what she wanted and how she wanted it. Those traits would sometimes have you on the hot seat, George, but never in a malicious way. I know she will be missed by everyone that knew her.
