My sympathy to Ray's family on his passing. I had the opportunity to work with Ray on a few occasions over the years. My most memorable was when he asked me to prepare a discussion paper on pharmacist collaborative prescribing. This had a profound effect on the practice of pharmacy. Ray's leadership in putting the concepts into practice was a great achievement. I recall when you ( Shelly) and Ray visited our house when you lived on 7th Ave E. A long time has passed with a lot of great memories. Sorry for your loss.

On behalf of the National Association of Pharmacy Regulatory Authorities (NAPRA), I extend our deepest condolences on Ray’s passing.
Ray was instrumental in starting NAPRA more than 25 years ago and helped to guide and shape it with his steady vision, camaraderie and genuine caring. All of us at NAPRA speak of Ray as one of the kindest people we have ever had the privilege of knowing. We, and countless others in the pharmacy community, have lost a dear colleague, friend, mentor and shoulder to lean on.
While I personally only met Ray five years ago when I joined NAPRA, he was immediately someone I could count on to guide and support me, and I count myself profoundly fortunate to have known him.
Shelley, our thoughts are with you and the whole family.

My families' deepest sympathies and condolences to the Joubert family on your loss. Ray was a person who everyone is lucky to know and I count myself very lucky to have learnt so much from him over the years.
To know Ray you would remember his intellect, passion for his profession and profound sense of justness and compassion towards others. Ray lit up any time you mentioned his family or grandchildren and always happy to re-hash a Rider game. He had a wicked dry sense of humour and would happily have a chat whenever you called him.
When I got the chance to travel around Canada and the US as part of SCPP - you knew you were with 'Pharmacy Royalty' - a clear measure of the depth of respect Ray held amongst regulators, practitioners, legislators and anyone else that he helped with his long service and dedication to the College. When Ray spoke in a meeting - you listened because whether or not you agreed - something deep was about to drop. He just had that way.
On a personal note - I too mourn the loss of a mentor and friend. Gone much too soon.
Rest in peace.

Such a gentle giant gone way too soon....my deepest sympathies to Ray's family. He was always so open to listening and leading change wherever it was needed. He was instrumental in developing the Sask Institute of Health Leadership, welcoming nurse practitioners as prescribers, supporting our Network of Interprofessional Regulatory Organizations, supportive of innovative health leadership practices in the province and a champion of interdisciplinary initiatives. He was a true collaborative for the best practice possible, always having a steady hand on the importance of not over or under regulating within our health professions. It was an honour to work with him on many projects. I will really miss him. He recently shared with me his hope to work for Habitat for Humanity and to give back to his many communities during his retirement. I offer my sincere sympathy to Ray's family, friends and colleagues on his passing. I had the distinct privilege of working with Ray over many years of our careers in health care, and valued every encounter I had with Ray. While he advanced the profession of pharmacy significantly during his tenure as Registrar, he always focused on what was best for the people of Saskatchewan/Canada, and as a result provided leadership to many important health care team innovations, particularly partnerships with physicians and nurses in the interests of providing better care to patients, clients, residents and their families. The brightest twinkle came into Ray's eyes when he spoke of his darling grandchildren and their antics--he loved their activities and mischief!

To all of Ray's family,
You don't know me, but I was one of many in the pharmacy community who was lucky enough to have the opportunity to work with Ray. I work for the National Association of Pharmacy Regulatory Authorities, an organization that Ray helped found. Ray was probably the nicest person I've ever met. He was always willing to take some time to chat, provide advice and support to a younger pharmacist just starting out in the regulatory world like me. He was kind and generous and a gentleman, but he was also fun and funny and full of that amazing SK spirit. We had many fun discussions about football (I'm a Bombers fan), but also about his amazing family. His eyes would light up when he talked about all of you and we could easily tell that family was of the utmost importance to him.
My sincerest condolences on this difficult loss. He was a wondeful man who impacted pharmacy across the country all while making many friends along the way. I will miss Ray so much, as will the entire pharmacy community I'm sure.
In the hopes that all these little stories about Ray bring you some small measure of comfort.
