Obituary of Dorothy May Harrison

May 25, 1922 - April 1, 2020

 

Dorothy May Harrison passed away on April 1, 2020 at the age of 97 years surrounded by her loving family in Calgary, Alberta.

 

Dorothy was born in Indian Head, Saskatchewan on May 25, 1922, to her Norwegian father Andrew Fremgard and Irish mother Lily Byrnes, and grew up on a farm near the town of Qu'Appelle. After losing her mother as a teenager, she lived in Norway for several years before returning to Saskatchewan. She spent her career in accounting and enjoyed working at Regina Motor Products before her retirement. Dorothy had recently moved to Calgary to spend her remaining time with family.

 

Dorothy was predeceased by her first husband Ottar Bohle and their son Andrew Bohle, as well as her second husband Jack Harrison, half-sister Elizabeth Violet George, sister Mary, and great-nephew Aaron John Moneo.

 

Dorothy is survived by her sister Helen Kormylo, niece Joanne Kormylo and great-niece Andrea Kormylo all of Calgary, as well as nieces Sharon (J.R.) Vanchu and Emilie Onagi, and nephew Norman (Arleen) Patrick.

 

Dorothy will be remembered by her many friends and family for her kind spirit, wonderful sense of humour, and love of animals. She will be dearly missed.

 

A Memorial Service will be held in Regina at a later date. Memorial tributes may be made directly to the Regina Humane Society, Inc.
