Chris Pappas

“Forever in our hearts”

Chrisostomos Papaconstantinou (Pappas) passed away surrounded by his family on September 18, 2021. He is lovingly remembered by his three children Connie Haunsperger (Chris), Basil Papaconstantinou (Pappas) and Vicki Papaconstantinou (Pappas); and his grandchildren Kurt Haunsperger and Erica Haunsperger.

Chris was born in Nea Chora, Arcadia Greece in 1937 and grew up amidst the olive groves of Agios Georgios, high above the Tanos River valley. As a young man, while fulfilling his military service in the Greek Navy and training to become a diesel engineer, he was introduced to Sophia Katsanakis, the love of his life. They immigrated to Canada and married in Brantford, Ontario in 1963.

Chris and Sophia moved to Regina in 1966 and Chris was hired as a machinist with IPSCO. In 1973, the family now counting five, he made the decision to embark on a new career in real estate. His career spanned thirty years in which he worked as a residential and commercial REALTOR® primarily with RE/MAX Crown Real Estate. Chris approached his work with steadfast commitment and earned a reputation as a respected and trustworthy businessman. After retiring at the age of 66, he and Sophia spent their summers in Greece visiting their family and friends.

Chris was a friendly and generous man who was devoted to his family and endeared himself to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.

Funeral Service will be held at St. Paul’s Greek Orthodox Church, 3000 Argyle Street, Regina, SK, on Friday, September 24, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Regina Memorial Gardens.
