Obituary of Harold Christian Schandor

It is with sadness the family of Harold Christian Schandor, announces his passing with his loving wife by his side on September 20, 2021, at the age of 91 years.  Harold leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Marilyn (nee Hofley) of Regina, SK; son, Darwin (Tracie) Schandor of North Vancouver, BC; daughter, Terrilynn Lowes (Trent) of Grand Coulee, SK; grandchildren Hayden and Mallory Lowes, Hudson and Kiana Schandor; sister Marion Herauf; along with several nephews, nieces and cousins.  Harold was born in Earl Grey, SK to Christian and Minnie Schandor on August 18, 1930. Harold and Marilyn were married on June 15, 1963 and they farmed near Lumsden for 10 years, then moved to Regina in 1973.  Harold took much pride in his role as a Security Officer at the Legislative Building which he held for 17 years.  He thoroughly enjoyed music and taught himself to play the accordion and banjo.  Harold also loved to fish and had many stories to tell of “the one that got away.” He will be forever loved and missed by all who knew him.  The family would like to thank the staff on Unit 3-6 WRC and more recently the staff at William Booth Special Care Home for the exceptional care that Harold received.  A private family service will be held on September 24, 2021. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Harold’s name to the Alzheimer’s Society of Saskatchewan at www.alzheimer.ca
