Donald Charles Cuthbert late of Regina, SK, passed away at the age of 64 years on September 25, 2021. He was predeceased by parents Muriel (née Chapman) and Chester Cuthbert. Don is survived by wife Alexis (Leippi); daughter Talitha (Allan) Ritter with grandsons Vaughn and Otto; daughter Kandarah Cuthbert both from his marriage to Oreshia Stengel; step-son Casey Hoornick and daughter April Cuthbert. Also mourning are siblings  Ellen (Bob) Kruger, Gordon (Sharon) Cuthbert, Raymond (Grace) Cuthbert, and Marion (Andre) Combot; parents-in-law Wilfred and Mona Leippi; siblings-in-law Roxana Tiefenbach, Woodrow (Joanne) Leippi, and Simone (Ross) Marasco; as well as seventeen nieces and nephews and their extended families.

Don was born April 5, 1957 in Winnipeg MB, the 4th of 5 children in his family. He attended Rockwood Elementary and Grant Park High school. Don had a love of music and played guitar for the church band. After graduation he attended university briefly and worked on construction jobs. Not enjoying physical “hard work”, he got a job at Gambles hardware store and moved out to live with a group of friends. In 1978 he ventured off from Winnipeg, heading for Calgary where he planned to meet a friend and start a life as a musician.  However, on the way, his car broke down in Regina and destiny was forever altered.

He made friends through the Agape and Maranatha church and eventually started a four year Bible School course. There he met Oreshia Stengel and they were married in 1983 until 1999. They moved to Saskatoon and had daughter Talitha in 1984,later moving back to Regina, where daughter  Kandarah was born in 1989. The family also lived in Regina Beach and Winnipeg while Don worked his way up in a variety of mostly computer related jobs until he was working with the Federal Government as an IT Tech in the field he most enjoyed. He often said it was the best job to be able to fix a computer problem for someone and make them happy! Most notably he received the Assistant Deputy Minister Award for Outstanding Achievement and Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal for his work on the Royal Commission on the Future Health Care of Canada.

Don retired early in 2008 but continued to help people with his computer skills through many online groups including Windows Insiders where his knowledge helped hundreds of people globally. Don also had a love of genealogy where he discovered and recorded much family history. Because of Don, our family was even blessed to find a niece through Ancestry DNA that had been placed for adoption!

Don started the second chapter of his life in 2008 when he married Alexis Leippi and became a step father to Casey.   Daughter April was born in 2009 and the next decade was spent enjoying travel to places such as Hawaii, Caribbean Islands, Costa Rica, England, Germany, Italy, Cuba, California and his favorite Australia. He was able to visit Australia in 2007, 2014 and 2020 and always seeking warmth and sunshine, would have loved to live there. Most recently he was proud to become a grandfather to  Vaughn and Otto.

Don was a kind gentle wise man who  tried to uphold the Christian principles he had learned and studied. He had the ability to forgive anyone and accepted people unconditionally. A man of great convictions he lived his life on his own terms even when it was not in popular opinion. Always a kid at heart, his daughters dubbed him a “12 year old boy” which explained his love of fart jokes! He enjoyed playing with phrases and pronunciation of words which led to the title of Master of Sheer and Utter Donsense. He loved his family  deeply and gone too soon from the earth, he will be missed by many.
