Obituary of Roseanne Andres

Roseanne Andres passed away on October 3, 2021 after a very short, pain-free, bout with cancer. 

She will be remembered for her big heart.  She was kind, welcoming and always there to help anyone in big and small ways.

Everything Roseanne did, she did with excellence.  She is known for her many artist talents.  She was a quilter, a painter, a musician and a stained-glass artist.  Her church community will always remember her when they look at the stained-glass window that she hand-crafted that adorns her church.  Every detail in that window has significance and meaning as can be read about on the attached plaque on the site.  She insured that as many people as possible were involved in the project, from the designing stage to the final installation. 

Roseanne was a self-taught pianist and started playing as the church pianist when she was about 11 years old.  She continued to develop her natural talent into adulthood when she started formal training.  She continued her training until she received her ARCT.  She taught many students over the years while Walter was in university and their children were small.  Later, she worked for the Regina School Board as an Educational Assistant in Kindergarten and then as a Speech Pathologist Assistant. 

Roseanne had volunteer interests that lined up with her big heart.  When the girls were young, she was the chairperson of the Pioneer Girls Clubs at her church.  She also taught ESL through the Regina Public Library and later through the Open Door Society.  She developed many, lasting relationships there.

Roseanne loved to sing.  She  enjoyed singing at her church choir.  She also sang in the Regina Philharmonic Chorus and the Regina Lyric Light Opera.  She spent many hours memorizing Italian lyrics!

Roseanne took great pride in the appearance of her home.  It was always magazine worthy.  It was a place she enjoyed welcoming friends and family to as often as she could.  She always enjoyed walking in the neighbourhood she lived in.  Both locations had a beautiful park nearby.  She appreciated God’s beautiful creations everywhere she went.

After retirement, Roseanne and Walter started traveling more.  They took some sightseeing trips to Europe, Alaska and Costa Rica.  They also took trips to Mexico and the Dominican Republic.  Roseanne researched local needs in these locations and they served while there.  They also took one Missions trip to Syria in which they sang in a choir for MCC.

Roseanne has 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild and she was immensely proud of each one of them.  She tried to spend individual time with them to develop a closer bond.  When they were all together, she loved having them perform on the piano or guitar.  She proudly displayed their artwork on “The Grand Gallery” wall.  She always made every attempt to attend their sporting events, recitals and ceremonies.

Roseanne is predeceased by her parents Jake and Marie Kehler and her brother David Kehler.

She is survived by her loving husband Walter Andres. her daughters Tannis Andres and Noreen (Michael) Hillsden, her grandchildren Janaya (Evan), Justin (Kelly), Jordan, David, Andrew, Faith and Christian and her great-granddaughter Lexi, her brothers, Ken (Kathy) and Garry (Susan) and many nieces and nephews.

The Memorial will be held at Parliament Community Church, 4011 Pasqua Street, Regina, SK, on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 1:30 p.m.  We hope everyone who is near and dear to Roseanne will be able to attend.  If you are unable to come, the service will be live streamed.  The location is pcomm.ca/live.  In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made to Music Mission Kiev.  P.O.
