Obituary of Josefa Zaragoza Labaya

Josefa Zaragoza Labaya, passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021 in Regina, SK, at the age of 91 years. She was born on April 30, 1930 in Badiang Palompon Leyte, Philippines to Ireneo and Juana Zaragoza. Josefa married Epifanio in 1953, and they had ten children together. She loved to cook and take care of her family. Josefa would always count her children and check on them. Family was everything to her. She had a very strong faith, and regularly attended Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Cathedral. She was predeceased by her husband Epifanio Labaya; her parents, Ireneo and Juana Zaragoza; her daughter Fidelina Labaya; and seven brothers and sisters. Josefa is survived by her children, Ceferina Labaya, Jessica Labaya, Francisco (Elizabeth) Labaya, Catalina (Eulalio) Candia, Manuel (Ana) Labaya, Grace Labaya, Julius (Ma Chariza) Labaya, Josephine (Dwayne) Wingerter and Marilou (Inigo) Mislang; eighteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister Genoviva Pagdato; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Prayer Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK., on Monday, October 11, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Cathedral, 2104 Garnet Street, Regina, SK, on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. Masks are mandatory. Memorial donations may be made to Holy Rosary Cathedral.
