Obituary of Beti Lewis Randall

Beti Lewis Randall, (nee Evans) Late of Regina, SK, passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at the age of 81 years. She was proud to be a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, wife and friend. Beti was born at home in Letterston in 1940, a village in south west Wales, to William James Evans and Ethel “Phyllis” Evans and soon after was joined by twin younger brothers William “Jeffrey” and Charles “Norman” Evans. In 1953 her family moved to Pembroke Dock in South Pembrokeshire, which was her home until she went to University of Bristol England where she completed a Bachelor of Science (BSc.) in psychology. She emigrated to U.S.A in 1961 to marry David Randall in 1962. They lived in Massachusetts where her husband’s family was close, and where she taught and completed a Master’s in Education at the University of Massachusetts. In 1967 they moved to Toronto, where she completed a diploma in Early Childhood Education at Seneca College. She worked as a specialist, teaching in Special Education in Scarborough. They had two children Sara L. Randall, 1968, and Jason David, 1970. In 1982 our family moved to Saskatchewan. She taught in three countries adding up to 35 years of caring for and educating children. Beti loved and participated in the arts at various times playing piano, singing, participating in drama and writing stories, poems and books. She participated in arts events with many organizations including the Regina Ladies Choir, Drama for the RCMP Recruits Training, reading and writing with the University of Regina’s Life Long Learning Centre. She had an active volunteer life with organizations such as the board of the Regina Community Clinic, Regina Welsh Society, English Language tutoring through the Regina Public Library. The family wishes to thank the outstanding care of all those who were supporting her at the Family Medicine Unit, Allan Blair Cancer Center and at the Pasqua Hospital, where people working in cancer and palliative services were professional and caring. A private family gathering will be held through Speers Funeral Chapel and Cremation Services. A celebration of Beti’s life will take place on Sunday, December 26, 2021. Details to follow.
