Obituary of Tietje Butz

Tietje “Titi” Butz, late of Regina, SK, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2021 at the age of 95. She was predeceased by her parents, Johannes and Anna Van Der Ploeg; husband, Rudolf Butz, and her daughters Peggy Stepenoff and Sally Crawford. Titi is survived by her daughter Rosemary Park of Oakville, ONT; grandchildren Erin Stepenoff (Dion Tchorzewski) and Colby Stepenoff of Regina, SK, Fraser Park of Kitchener, ONT, and Mathew Batten of Calgary, AB; great grandchild Eden Tchorzewski of Regina, SK; her sisters Jeltje (Ellie) McGinnis (Irv McGinnis) of Edmonton, AB and Anna Dobra (George Dobra, deceased) of Calgary, AB; brother, Gosse Van Der Ploeg (Terry Van Der Ploeg, deceased) of Merville, BC together with numerous nieces and nephews.  Titi came to Canada from Holland as a war bride. She was devoted to and enjoyed spending time with her family.  She spent many years golfing at the Tor Hill Course in Regina.  A self-professed “sport’s nut,” in her later years she spent time cheering for the Bluejays and Riders or watching curling and tennis.
