Brad and family,
I enjoyed sharing in both the sadness and happiness of Bob's service today. It was a wonderful tribute and farewell and it brought back a lot of childhood memories for me. The hours spent playing at the Wolbaum house was a BIG part of my childhood. It was a safe, comfortable, calm, fun place for a kid like me. I always felt the warmth, hospitality, and love of your family and still do to this day. Bob was a great guy and the times I spent with him echo everyone's sentiments... he was a one of a kind. Someone who lived life to the fullest, put family first, and was welcoming and accepting of all. I have been thinking of you all A LOT and want you to know that my sincerest apologies and condolences are with you. May your days ahead be filled with comfort, support, fond memories, and joy that Bob's spirit remains with you always. He was a good man! Big hugs and much love to you all.

Sylvia and I would like to express our condolences to Dianne and the family. Bob and I were great friends starting with hockey 45-50 years ago. We played and enjoyed every minute. Later we were involved at the lake. Every year opening in May and closing in September.
Bob,Terry,Jeff and I would meet and help each other with whatever task we had to perform.
The best part was sitting around the fire and telling stories about how great we were when we were younger! Each year the stories were more far fetched!
Bob always invited any who wanted to come to his fires.
I loved seeing him get his hotdogs made, beer delivered and wood put by his chair so he could throw it into the fire without leaving his chair.
He loved his kids and grandkids. You could see him glow when they were around.
Our visits together in Mazatlan were also special. Exploring new places and restaurants.
Bob ordered a pail of beer at Catrinas. Twelve beer came in a bucket followed by twelve more. It was two for one!
But it was no problem for us!
I would have loved to have made a video of Bob backing the pontoon into the lake at the marina! I think that’s how I got the job after that!
Bob always said he got a sore neck backing in boats!
We will miss him.

It is with such sadness I write these words. I have the honour of calling Bob my first ‘ City Dad ‘ in which I mean he is the father of one of the first true friends I made when I moved to the city. I remember the first time I was welcomed into the Warm wonderful Wolbaum family home. We ate, we laughed and we visited for hours. The house was full of family and joy and always was.
The other story I would love to share is a fishing story which I KNOW many people who knew Bob probably have! One weekend I was invited out to the Lake to fish for rainbow trout with Bob and Brad. The FIRST thing I learned (and assure you I learned many things! ) is that EVERYONE had a place in the boat. Bob did not have the big pontoon boat yet he had a small, I believe yellow but I might be wrong , boat. BUT I quickly learned that when trolling at around 5ish miles an hour and fishing 2 lines off the back of the boat that Captain Bob had a system! And my goodness did it work! I KNOW many may not believe it but we caught upwards of 40 fish that day! We released most but of course kept the perfect eating size for supper that night! I swear When I close my eyes I can still hear Bob, Brad and I laughing our butts of and squealing with glee as fish after fish took the line that day! Those Rainbows jumped in the sun and every time they did we would ALL let out a ‘ WOW!! Did you see that!?’ I would say I am lucky enough to have about 100 Perfect days in my glorious life and I can say without a doubt in my mind that THAT day was one of them. I love you Bob. Thank you for that day and many others. I love the Wolbaum family so much. They are my family too and always will be.
