Obituary of Ronald Carl Nathan Duesterbeck

It is with sadness, that we announce the passing of Ronald Duesterbeck on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at the age of 88 years.  He was predeceased by his parents Carl and Mary; his son Douglas and brother Wesley and sister-in-law Rose. Ronald is survived by his wife of 65 years, Elsie; children Daryle (Gladys) and their family Jennifer (Jeremy), Nicole (Preston) and Bradley (Hayle); Jo-ann and her family Mike and Meagan (Garth); Trent (Lori) and their daughter Alyssa; and Kevin (Rose) and their family Carrie-Ann and Brenon; five loving great-grandchildren; brother Calvin; sister-in-law Sophie as well as many extended family and close friends. Ronald was born on a farm in Davin, SK on January 5, 1933 to Carl and Mary Duesterbeck. He worked at numerous jobs; CN Rail, Cowan Heating, farming, trucking, CO-OP Implements and at Ipsco for 25 years until his retirement. He then worked miscellaneous jobs and returned to farming. Ron was very skilled at everything he did. “Jack of all trades,” willing to give a helping hand but always wanting to be the boss! He also had numerous hobbies, including baseball, cards, curling and marbles and was a very competitive player. Ronald’s children would like to acknowledge our mom who has been dad’s loving caregiver since he became ill. Her countless hours of care to enable him to stay home for as long as possible, was her loving gift to him. The family would like to thank the dedicated staff of doctors, nurses and care aides at the General and Pasqua Hospitals for their kindness and care which will never be forgotten. A private family interment will be held. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Stars Air Ambulance, 2640 Airport Road, Regina, SK, S4W 1A6.

“You were always there when we needed you

No task to great or small,

With a loving heart and willing hand

For us you did them all.

Thanks for the years you gave us,

And for the times we shared

We pray that when you left us

You knew how much we cared.”

“God saw you getting tired

When a cure was not to be

He put His arms around you,

And whispered “Come To Me.”

You didn’t deserve what you went through,

So God gave you a rest

His garden must be beautiful

For he only takes the best!”
