Roberta “Bobbie,” passed away peacefully on November 22, 2021 at 101 years of age. Bobbie was born in Regina on March 7, 1920 the youngest child of Lauren and Georgia Shank.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Grant in 2008 after almost 66 years of marriage; her parents; brothers Allen, Hervey and John; sisters Charlotte and Jean; and daughter-in-law Judith.

Bobbie leaves to cherish her memory daughters Sandra Shepherd (John) and Paula Maschek (Pat); son Tom Cumbers (Karen); grandchildren Tracy, Carla, Scott, Kathy, Jason and Cheryl; twelve great grandchildren; and one great great grandson.

Bobbie always felt privileged to be able to stay home with her children while they were growing up. Her home was always full of family and friends. When the family was older she did a great deal of volunteer work. She ran the Unicef Greeting Card office for five years and later was a volunteer at Wascana hospital.

Bobbie took pottery classes at the University Extension Department. She had her own wheel and kiln and spent many happy hours in her pottery shed at the beach.

Bobbie and Grant loved the years spent at Buena Vista and in retirement Regina Beach. Later they enjoyed their time at Marion Chateau. When Bobbie needed more help Golden Years Manor became her home. The last four years of Bobbie’s life were spent at Riverbend Crossing, an awesome and caring community where care givers became family. Special thanks to Becky who became Bobbie’s surrogate daughter during COVID isolation, lockdowns and beyond and to Shailini and Jennifer who kept her looking beautiful.

Bobbie’s greatest joy in life were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be missed but wonderful memories will live on.

Memorial Service will be held in the spring when family and friends can gather.
