Shannon Shaughnessy

Obituary of Shannon Marie Shaughnessy

Shannon Marie Shaughnessy late of Regina, SK, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2021 at the age of 54 years. Shannon was born in Kitimat, BC to Ann and Lyle Severns on August 23, 1967.

Shannon is survived by her parents Ann and Lyle Severns; her sisters, Roxanne (Dennis) Mervin and Wanda Severns; her children, Aaron Shaughnessy, Nicole (Travis) McLaren and Evann (Michael) Collette; granddaughter Norah McLaren; niece and nephew Quinn and Austin Severns; and her dog Bella.

Shannon attended High School at Columneetza Senior Secondary School and graduated in 1985. She moved to Victoria, BC shortly after one semester at Trinity Western University. She worked as a caregiver for disabled adults and volunteered as a clown for sick children who were in the hospital. Shannon met her husband and father of her children, Delwin Shaughnessy, while she was volunteering at a soup kitchen. Shannon and Delwin were married twenty plus years before they parted ways.

Later on, Shannon decided to move her family half way across the country to Regina, SK. It was here, during her eleven year career, that she worked her way up in the design world becoming Sales Manager at Kitchen Craft Canada.

Shannon had many hobbies and interests. She enjoyed crafting, designing, doodling, cooking, flower arranging and jewellery.

Shannon is and always will be loved dearly by all those who had the opportunity to know her. She has lived a life filled with friends, family, and endless laughs. Shannon loved God with all her heart and was a member of Harvest City Church for ten plus years. She had a gift for creativity and love for people, she valued everyone around her and was an absolute blessing, showing everyone kindness. She was never afraid to make jokes and make an ordinary situation into an extraordinary situation. Shannon always valued being able to joke and laugh even in the darkest of times. So even though she is not with us anymore, we know if she was, she'd be making jokes and wanting us to laugh as we think back on our memories of her. Shannon always wanted, when her time came, for it to be a celebration of the life she lived. This is made easy with how amazing of a woman, mother, wife, sister, daughter, and friend she was. Shannon will continue to live on in our memories and the stories her life created, will not soon be forgotten.  She is now partying up in heaven!

A Celebration of Shannon’s Life will be held at Harvest City Church, 2202 8th Avenue North, Regina, SK, on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with David Wells and Nicole Taylor officiating. To view the livestream of the service, please click here.
