Our memories of Jake are of a man with a smile and a kind word for everyone. He was always interested in what everyone was doing, and was a willing spectator at his great grandchildren's hockey and ball games, even at the age of 90! You will be missed beyond words, Jake. Our sincerest sympathies to Irene, Colleen & Scott, Amber & Matt & boys, Kristy and Brook, Presley and Theodore, and the rest of Jake's large family. RIP Jake.

So sorry to hear of the passing of such a wonderful human being. It was always a great pleasure to spend some time with Jake and Irene. I well remember the day a few decades ago Dad and I were driving to Winnipeg, Cecil spotted the Rotary sign on the highway and wanted to make up a meeting in Brandon. We walk through the door for lunch and here's his friend and golf mentor Jake, chairing the meeting! Our parents had a lot of fun together, didn't they? My condolences to the family. I have very fond memories of Jake as the manager at RBC when I first started. He was so respected. Jake & Irene made the trip to STEINBACH for our branch’s 100 year anniversary June 2017. They were one of the last to leave the party!

I have fond memories of working with Jake at the Royal Bank, Golden Mile Branch; he was the first manager at that branch. He was a wonderful person and was highly respected by staff and clients. I’ve enjoyed the company of Jake and Irene at many bank functions. He will be missed! My deepest sympathy to Irene and family at this sad time.

So very grateful that I had the opportunity to visit with Uncle Jake last summer while making cinnamon twists at their house in Strasbourg! He said something to me that day that I will never forget. Uncle Jake was always a class act! He also had a mischievous side and a great sense of humour. He was loved dearly and will be missed by all of us. Sending hugs, prayers and shared tears.
