My heart goes out to all of Brian's family at this difficult time. Although I haven't seen any of the family for many years, I still have many memories of my parents (Eddie and Mazel) and Brian and Kent's parents being together a lot when we were young. I actually gave both boys a haircut in my bedroom when I was about 7. It was winter and Muriel called for the boys to get their jackets and toques on, that they were going home. Once they arrived home the "dreaded call" came to my mom letting her know I had cut the boys hair. The story resurfaced for many years to come. A wonderful family!

Ryan, so sorry to hear of Brian’s passing. Thinking of you. Your dad was always so proud of you! He loved telling everyone about all your successes and accomplishments. He was a special person. I have many great memories of my time working for him. He could be very tough but also so kind. And he loved if he could tell a joke. He will be missed.

My most sincere condolences to Brian's family. Heather and Brian were our good friends, and after Heather died it was a comfort to Dale and me that at least we still had Brian. He will be greatly missed.

I am sorry to hear that Brian has passed. My sincere condolences to Ryan, Brent/Kellie, Kent and Elaine, and Brian’s grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Ryan and Brent, I was with your Mom on the day she met your Dad for the first time at Central Collegiate when we were in Grade Ten. I have wonderful memories of their early years together as a young couple and later on as a family when you two boys were born. Cherish your happy memories of your parents and let them sustain you as you learn to deal with your loss. Your Dad loved his cars, so I have attached a photo of him in his '95 Mustang.

I worked with Brian In Finance for many years. He exhibited the qualities we all strive for - intelligent, professional, thoughtful and, when the situation warranted, funny. He earned the highest level of professional respect in his field of expertise from all who had the opportunity to work with Brian. My deepest sympathies on your loss.

Brian’s passing is very sad news. Over the years I had many interactions with Brian in his capacity as the head and then Assistant Deputy Minister of PEBA and it was always a pleasure to be in his company. He was knowledgeable and helpful and he was a person of good humour. Your loss will be great but please know that it is shared by all those who were fortunate to have known Brian. Please accept my sincere sympathy.

Dear Ryan,
Keith and I were saddened to read of Brian’s passing. Our deepest sympathy to you Ryan. Brian called me late this past fall and told me about his last year, the mishaps, and the highs and lows. It was a very special conversation to me that becomes more precious today. He spoke so highly of you Ryan, and it was clear he was very proud of you. He also spoke of how much you were there for him and how much it meant to him. The conversation also recalled memories for us in our working life together, many of them making us laugh. We thought we would speak again. He was a special man to work with, challenging me often, but mainly encouraging me. He will be deeply missed. Take comfort in knowing that he was special to many of us.

Our condolences to Brian’s family. Brian and I go way back and have visited each other’s homes and cottages here (us in NB) and Saskatchewan and when my wife (Sandy & I) lived in the Cayman Islands. We knew and shared time with both Heather & Susan. Brian & I were both in the benefits” industry and presidents of the CPBI, I followed him I think. We went to many sports events (hockey, Grey Cups, etc.) while at meetings. Last corresponded with Brian and became aware of his medical issues & Susan’s passing late last year. Corresponded with Ryan last week and he updated me on Brian’s condition. Although we were not in constant touch recently we are sorry he is gone. Only have fond memories.
Sandy & Cyril Theriault
