Obituary of Leonard Hilton Renwick

A Life Well Lived

1934 - 2022

With great sadness Len's family would like to announce his passing on February 13, 2022 at the age of 87.  Len was born in Cabri, SK to Burton and Ida Renwick on August 18, 1934 and was very proud to have grown up on the family farm north of Swift Current, SK.  He was always happy to share fascinating stories of his childhood growing up on the farm and was grateful, his brother Clarence and his family continued their parent's legacy of the farm and even prouder to celebrate the 100th Anniversary in 2009.  Len was a hard-working successful small business owner for over 30 years in Regina with a strong work ethic that he passed on to his children.

Mom and Dad were happily married for 58 years and with warm hospitality, their door was always open for friends and family enjoying hosting family gatherings, entertaining many close friends, playing cards, dancing, and curling. Loving to travel they enjoyed trips to Hawaii, Mexico, Europe, Bahamas, and South America.  In retirement, Mom and Dad spent winters in Arizona, making lasting friendships and where Dad began playing water volleyball five days a week for over 15 years.

Len was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, filling family life with camping adventures, backyard pool activities every summer, memorable family vacations and special trips to Disneyland and Hawaii.  Nicknamed, "Mr. Fix-It" by his children, he could fix anything and never hesitated to help, but also a talented carpenter, passionate gardener honoured to be featured in a local Secret Garden Tour, avid bird watcher, and vastly knowledgeable of nature and wildlife.  In his 70's, he became interested in playing computer games on his iPad, right up until the last few days of his life.

Len will be dearly missed by his children, Kim, Derrick, Cindy, and Connie (Alan); his grandchildren, Drew (Ashley), Matt (Ashley), Jami-Rae, Brady (Whitney); his great-grandchildren, Kaden, Hadley; his sister, Norma Monteith, as well as numerous family members and friends.

Len was predeceased by his loving wife, Jeanne; and by his siblings, Clarence Renwick (Eva), Blanche Renwick, Vivian Abrey, Audrey Merritt (Kenneth), Ken Renwick (Marjorie), Cliff Renwick (Betty), Maxine Tonsaker (Cliff), Shirley Hilts (Stan), Richard Renwick (Denise), Faye Presho; and brother-in-law, Hugh Monteith.

Our family wishes to extend a special thank you to the healthcare professionals at Regina Wascana Grace Hospice for their remarkable care, compassion, and kindness in Len's final days.

A private family Celebration of Life will take place at Regina Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, family and friends so wishing may make donations, in Len's memory to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre, 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK, S4T 7T1.

“Pops, we will cherish the memories going to Rider games with you and will cheer loud for you.”
