Pauline Gilewicz

Obituary of Pauline Regina Gilewicz

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear Mom and Babcia, Pauline, on Friday February 18, 2022 at home surrounded by her family.

Mom was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Mary Rydzik; her husband Stanley; brothers Walter (Joyce), Joe (Kathleen) and Stanley; sister Jeannie (Allan); brothers-in-law Andy, Ed and Philip along with special friend and neighbour Sarah Nagy.

She is survived by her children, Eileen, Joanne (Rick), Thomas (Donna) and Lillian (John); her two special granddaughters, Sophie and Avery; sisters-in-law Josie Gilewicz, Mikeline Kisil, Gloria Rydzik; brother-in-law Joe Gilewicz; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Mom's hands were never still. Her talents were numerous and she excelled at all of them. She especially loved to crochet and make afghans for all of her children and granddaughters. We will cherish them forever. If Mom wasn't making quilts, you would find her in the kitchen, baking bread, cinnamon buns or Easter Paska. Her pride and joy was her garden. Mom grew the biggest and best garden on the block every year. Weeds never had a chance and slugs could never run away fast enough. From the largest cabbages to the prettiest flowers, there was nothing Mom couldn't grow.

Mom's love for her family was boundless, everlasting and unconditional. No matter what, we always knew her love was always there for us. No one will love us like Mom did. She will be holding our hearts now in Heaven.

“Rest softly Mom, we love you. Until we meet again.”

The family would like to thank the Palliative Care Team especially Ashley, Alisha, Brianna and Sherri for their unending compassion.

Funeral Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK, on Wednesday February 23, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Karol Twarowski and Rev. Marian Ogorek officiating. Interment will be held at Riverside Memorial Park.
