Richard was my student at SIAST. He was hardworking and wanted to achieve his academic potential. Although he presented a strong demeanor, he had a gentle, kind soul. A couple of years later, he wrote me a letter telling me that he had successfully completed his GED.
Sometimes on a Monday morning, he would be awaiting my arrival. Then he would process the events of the weekend with me. He was open and honest.
