Obituary of Lorenne Alison Wall
Lorenne Alison Wall, a dedicated wife, mother, daughter, and dear friend to many, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2022, at the age of 47. Lorenne will be most remembered by her flawless sense of fashion, her affection for plants, her decadent baking and most importantly, her caring and compassionate heart. Lorenne’s inherent kindness and authenticity were qualities that were admired by her loved ones, colleagues, and patients. For more than 20 years, Lorenne followed her passion for Medical Social Work and positively impacted the lives of many. Although Lorenne was unable to physically work during the majority of her illness, she was a born social worker and continued to share her knowledge and offer support to those who surrounded her and cared for her. Those who were fortunate enough to know her, loved her. She will continue to inspire those whose lives she has touched.
Lorenne is lovingly remembered by her best friend and husband of 20 years, Murray Wall, their two children, Aidan and Anya, and their family cat, Stitch. Lorenne will be forever remembered by her parents, Fred and Linda Wall, her brother, Robin Wall and his two children, Reed and Brooklyn. Her beloved mother and father-in-law, George and Gail Wall, sister and brother-in-law, Darla and Denis Carrigan and their children Liam, Evan, Ryan, and Brettin. Lorenne was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Barry Wall. She will continue to be celebrated by her friends, who loved her like family.
Lorenne was born on February 11, 1975, in Swift Current Saskatchewan and raised in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan. After graduating high school, she studied for 6 months at Capernwray Bible School in Sweden, also travelling with her friend Steve to Norway (to see the Olympics), Amsterdam, Germany, Austria, Italy, and Greece. Thereafter, she attended the University of Regina and completed her Bachelor of Social Work degree in 1998. After establishing their family, Lorenne and Murray made memories together travelling to Disney, California, Bermuda, New York, Banff, Minot, Fred and Linda’s ranch, as well as many other locations. Lorenne has shared that her biggest life accomplishment has been raising her children Aidan and Anya and will always be her greatest pride and joy.
Special recognition to Lorenne’s health care team who provided exceptional care and support to Lorenne and her family. Not only did you provide her with care, but Lorenne found solace in the friendships and companionship that developed over time. A special thank you to the Allan Blair Cancer Clinic (Dr. Salim, Dr. Sadikov, Julie, Meisha, Natasha, Judy), Unit 3B at the Pasqua Hospital and the Palliative Care Unit. Lorenne also sought treatment in Texas and would like to thank the MD Anderson Cancer Center for their guidance and expertise.
The Wall family is thankful for all who contributed to the fundraisers and supported Lorenne and her family throughout her illness including friends, neighbours, coworkers, and even acquaintances.
Despite Lorenne’s passing, she will continue to impact our lives in many meaningful ways, never to be forgotten, as we navigate this life without her physical presence. In lieu of flowers, a trust fund has been established for Lorenne’s children in her memory. Donations may be sent to lorennewalltrust@murmans.com or in the care of Murray Wall and may be dropped off at your local Credit Union. At Lorenne’s request, a private family service will be held at a later date.
