Florence “Flossy” Marie Matt, late of Regina, SK, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2022 at the age of 74 years. She was predeceased by her parents Stephen and Jeanette (Laturnus), Florence is survived by brothers: Charles (Vicki Gerwing), Gerald, Norman (Judy Cary), Robert (Linda Ostafie), Gordon (Rita Kuntz), and Arnie (Sophie Maroudis). She (we) also had one special sister, Theresa Ursan (Roy) who came into the family at a very early age. Flossy had numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved so dearly: Craig (Carla Rice) and Ashlee Matt; Gabriel (Katrina Hadley), Vincent (Evelyn Caceres) and Nicole Matt (Chris Dakin); Shelly (Nolan Tabashniuk), Dean (Amy Mychajlunow) and Chad Matt (Kirby Thorson); Tara, Dana (Chris Weber) and Ian Matt (Robyn Torrie), Darcy (Tyler Kennedy) and Chelsea, Alyssa and Emily Matt. She had numerous grandnieces and grandnephews.

Flossy, at the time of her birth suffered from oxygen deprivation and had developmental difficulties the rest of her life. She could only get as far as grade 4 in school and eventually, a few years later transitioned into working at the Cosmo Centre on McDonald St, which she quite enjoyed until her retirement.

Florence was born in Regina on August 10, 1947 and her early years were on dad’s farm a short distance north east of White City. The family moved to Arcola Ave Service Station (now Douglas Park Esso) where she started her schooling. This was outside the city limits at that time and kids to play with did not live very close. In 1957 the family moved to 1200 block Edgar St and this was Home until she moved to her own residence.

Florence had many difficulties during her life. She accepted the challenges and kept on going onward. Giving up was not her style.  She dearly loved family gatherings and the times at the cabin at Etter’s Beach. The family sincerely appreciates the kind words and memories of our dear sister Florence.
