Kae passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of March 2, 2022 at the Pasqua Hospital at the age of 93 and is now “Dancing with the Angels.” Although small is stature, she was larger than life and a remarkable woman who touched the hearts and lives of countless people.

Regina and the Romanian community have lost a pioneer and one of its greatest supporters! Kae’s Romanian heritage, her faith and giving back to the community at large were of great importance to her. She volunteered countless hours to Miorita Romanian Cultural Society of Regina, Saint George Orthodox Cathedral, Eminescu Dance Ensemble (which she was the founder), Regina General Hospital, and was the driving force behind the Romanian Pavilion at Mosiac for many years. Her collection of Romanian artifacts, music, clothing, and art work was extensive and lives on in her memory. Kae and the Eminescu Dance Ensemble traveled and performed in Romania and throughout North America pleasing audiences wherever they went. Kae was also instrumental in helping many Regina families adopt Romanian children. Kae was a strong believer in giving back and financially supported many charities throughout her life.

Kae was born on the family farm in the Spring Valley District to Dan and Mary Boghean, and was the 3rd child of 6. Kae married George Banda in Kayville, Sask in June of 1947 and she spent her whole life living and working in Regina.
