Obituary of Jean Meikle

Jean passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 31, 2022 in Palliative Care at Pasqua Hospital. She was predeceased by her parents, Hugh and Doris; brother Douglas (Jean), Hugh (Marian); brother Roy Meikle (June - predeceased). Jean will be missed by her sister Mary Beryl, by her nephews, nieces, their families and friends. If you were looking for Jean at a family gathering you might well find her playing with her nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

A heartfelt thank-you to, and appreciation for, all the staff of the Palliative Care Unit of the Pasqua Hospital.

Jean was born June 17, 1926. Jean attended Violette School, later Balcarres school when the family moved into town.

Jean worked as a clerk in various downtown Regina stores before making a career at Regina News. After retiring she continued to care for her mother Doris Meikle at her home on Horace Street.

Jean loved to garden and grew colorful flowers in the summertime. In her later years Jean moved to a condo in east Regina. Jean’s sister Beryl joined her in the same building down the hall, after her husband passed in 2011.

Jean will be remembered for her love of family and friends.

A private family interment will be held at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations in memory of Jean may be made to the Palliative Care Unit, Pasqua Hospital.
