It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lindsay Hognestad on April 1, 2022. Lindsay passed away with his family at his side after a difficult fight with brain cancer. He was 65 years old at the time of his passing. Lindsay was born on July 14, 1956 in Prince Albert, SK. He grew up on the family farm in Birch Hills, SK. He moved to Francis and then Regina after he became a Lutheran parish pastor where he served in ministry for 30 years. Lindsay was predeceased by his parents Thor and Daisy. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 32 years, Nancy; his son Benjamin; his daughter Sarah (Dave); his sisters Janice and Audrey (Darryl); and his nieces and nephews Erin, Cheryl (JB), Joel (Lauren), and Katie (Jamie), and their children. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Dash, Dr. Buwembo, Dr. Leong, and Dr. Souied who helped Lindsay in his fight with cancer. As well as to the amazing staff of the Regina General Hospital Neuro Unit, the Alan Blair Cancer Centre, Unit 3B at the Pasqua Hospital, Palliative Home Care, and Bayshore Home Health who showed unparalleled grace, kindness, and care for Lindsay in his final months. Funeral Service will be held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 190 Massey Road, Regina, SK, on Friday, April 8, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. All are welcome to attend. The family ask that all in attendance wear a mask and are fully vaccinated.
