Dave and I used to breakfast at The Valley restaurant in Lumsden and, invariably, Nick and Olga would be there before us. Each man would outdo the other in their attempts to have breakfast funded by the opposite party. The banter would end only after Nick (with a twinkle in his eye) assured us that he had, sadly, left his wallet at home, and could afford only his and Olga's meal. Nick had the most amazing sense of humour. We were privileged to have known him.

I've known Nick and Olga for years as they frequently came to the restaurant I work at. Nick was always friendly and loved to tease me about having to keep his change for the cleaning lady. They became some of my favorite customers and Olga you let me know when you want to come for a visit and I will come get you.

It was always fun and interesting at Uncle Nick's and Aunt Olga's. I remember time with Grampa Fabrik at the house, and the Doberman from long ago. A few years ago my son, Lincoln, and I came for a visit and made memories with the tractors, big and small, and the little right hand drive. I am sad but happy at the memories. I will miss you Uncle Nick.

We will miss Uncle Nick. His many musical and technical abilities made him a very popular guy. His sense of humour was always a welcome addition to any get together. He lived a good life and was always a good, kind person. We will keep saying prayers for his soul to have an easy journey.
