Obituary of Gerald John Mengel

Our family is heartbroken and with great sadness announce the passing of Gerald “Pappy” Mengel on April 16, 2022 at the age of 72 years surrounded by his loving family and dear friend Orlando. Gerald will be forever greatly missed by the love of his life and best friend of 50 years, Gloria; son Ryan (Tracey) Mengel; daughter Deanne (Craig) Robertson; his most precious blessings (his little people) Cale, Peyton, Lane, Keira, Logan, Bransen and the icing on the cake Brinlee; and dear friend Orlando. He is survived by his sisters Jeanette Thauberger and Joan Lang; brother Gordon Mengel; sisters-in-law Irene, Kathy and Mary Ann; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Gerald was predeceased by his son Jeff; parents George and Loretta; mother and father in-law Frank and Mary Lang; numerous brothers-in-law; and nephew Kirk Lang. A special thank you to the Emergency Team at the Moose Jaw Wigmore F. H. Regional Hospital and the Emergency Response team and Comfort Care Unit at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon for the loving care you gave to Gerald. Celebration of Gerald’s Life will be held at Assumption BVM R.C. Church, Holdfast, SK, on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gerald’s memory may be made to Assumption BVM Fund or Cemetery Fund.
