Paul was one of the good guys. A guy who always had your back. When I first met Paul he was a tech at Global as we were about to launch the LMS (Library Management System). I spent many hours with Paul trying to get the thing working and over time we became friends. He talked about growing up in Winnipeg, about his family, about working up north and how much he loved it. All the while files were loading and buffering we shared small talk about our lives and dreams. Later Paul was to become my manager and he was great at it. He was honest and caring. He made sure our technical needs were met and he always was available to talk. He had his window of his office covered with a photo of himself working at his desk ( a joke that made us all laugh because it was exactly what he looked like). I think of him often and his passing is sad. Rest in peace Paul I am sure where ever you are now you are still making everyone laugh.

Every time I was around Paul I got to laugh. It didn't matter if we had already worked 20 hours and were completely exhausted - Paul would find something to make it funny and get me laughing. I always appreciated that about him and will never forget it. We started together at CKBI and worked together on and off right into a few of the Global years. Every day I got to work with Paul was a better day. He was always fun, always witty, and always brilliant technically. A rare combination.
It was my honor to work with Paul, and an even greater honor to be his friend. He will be greatly missed!

Paul was my friend, my mentor and boss at Global Regina for 8 yrs. The privilege to have been allowed to work closely and get to understand Paul in a very different way to most was truly special. My kids and whole family loved to visit with him in his office. Paul would light up just as much as the kids from their visits. Kids knew instantly he was a big soft hearted gentleman. I’m glad we stayed in contact after Global and continued to meet for coffees. I will miss the coffees and chats. I will miss Paul! My condolences to the family in this difficult time.

The news of Paul's passing was heartbreaking. I think of Paul often, even though it's been years since we worked together. He was one of the first people who befriended me when I started at Global Regina and we clicked right away. Every day for 6 years he would come by my desk for a visit. Despite the tough exterior, Paul was always such a caring and kind human being. Our daily chats were something I always looked forward to. I can't wait to resume our chats one day. RIP my friend XO
