I'm so very sorry about the passing of Ross Wimmer, such a gracious, intelligent and kind man. My heart goes out to his family and all who loved him. I spent my youth at his home in the Crescents with my best pal Cathy, soaking in the sun in their backyard, playing hide and seek in their charming old-world home, and watching movies in their huge master bedroom. It was, for me, a magical place and an enchanted time, complete with fireworks on Canada Days, visible from their front porch. The Wimmers' house was ground-central for festivities! Ross and Joan were so welcoming and generous, always happy and laughing, playing bridge with my parents often and hosting parties together in their sunny backyard. It might be a trick of a child's memory, but I distinctly recall Cathy and I trying to convince my parents to purchase the home next door to the Wimmers so we could merge our backyards and have a super-home, with four parents, ten kids, a pool, a massive garden and so much fun! I felt so fortunate to know and love the family, and so lucky that people like the Wimmers lived just down the lane from me. The whole neighborhood shined with this large and wonderful family, enriching our lives and enveloping everyone with love and happiness. Again, my heart goes out to Joan, Cathy, Ross, Carla, Jeff, Chris and Karl. Your father was a wonderful and good man - I am so blessed to have known him and all of you.
