There are people put on this earth who remind us that there is true kindness, and love in this world. People who truly care and love us, this was Annie.
Through her life she worked hard and always did her best. She had a dignity about her. With age, her abilities made life more challenging for her. Regardless of this, over the years that she lived with Gisèle and Jerry, they talked about how she wanted to help out, which she did in any way she could, to show her gratitude.
She laughed easily and made a person feel good to be with her, whether it was simply sharing stories about the past or going along with the fun at hand, she was game. How she loved sitting , watching curling and football, particularly with Jerry for company.
Although her hearing and sight presented a considerable challenge over time, she remained alert and aware beyond what would be expected. Her memory and genuine interest in you as a person and your family was truly touching.
With the challenges of the past two years making it difficult for loved ones to visit, she was able to look forward to Jerry managing to see her regularly, whether it meant standing outside in the cold in a snow bank! And she had the caring and love of Gisèle looking out for her, giving her support and comfort through it all, being with her even as she passed.
All who loved her never wanted to have her leave us. She was so excited about her last birthday, delighted with the celebration and the many cards she received, that she said jokingly,
“I might just as well make it to 100! “
She will be dearly missed by all who have been blessed with her presence.
A beautiful person, who will be remembered for her way of being,
her caring, friendship, and incredible resilience.
Annie gave us so much to be grateful for by having her in our lives.
With love Denise & Marcelle
