Dear Darren, Leanne and families,
We are so sorry to hear of the passing of your lovely Mom and Grandma June. She was a huge part of our lives, coming to my Mom and Dad's house to give us all haircuts, that then extended to all of us going to get a "June haircut" with our kids. Our children remember that being a great time, getting to go to Grandma's generally after school, getting treats and a haircut from June. She has been part of major life events for myself and my family, be it doing hair and make up for weddings, special occasions, etcetera. Aside from her amazing talents as our hairdresser for many, many years, she was an incredibly kind and loving lady. We were all saddened to hear of her decline in the past few years, and it is our wish to your family that you remember the good times. Every time I think of your Mom/Grandma, I do so with a big smile. She truly was a gem of a person, and she loved all of you so very much. She would always give us updates as to how her kids and grandkids were doing, making it feel like you were all part of our extended family.
I know she is with your dad, looking down on you all and will do so for an eternity, beaming with pride.

The girls, and us, cherish the amount of time she spent with them when they were this little and we cannot forget Great Grandma always did the hair cuts! Brooklyn & Tenley have many special "trinkets" from Great Grandma!

Darren and Barb - We did not meet your Mom until she moved to the first home on Pasqua. Her and my Mom seemed to hit it off until these lovely ladies changed which seemed to happen daily. Your Mom's beauty shone through. She had a beautiful smile and sparkling eyes. Even her illness could not mask her beauty. Auntie June you were like a 2nd mom to me. You were an inspiration with your fierce independence and uncanny ability to do anything! The best hairdresser, makeup artist, home improvement and interior designer, not to mention fashion icon. I sure will miss you and your playful banter. But I know you are happily reunited with Uncle Court who you missed so dearly and we can all find solace in knowing that.

June, or Joan as she was known to many of us was a cherished member of the Wilcox family. Joan and I were born the same year and have been sisters in law for over 60 years! We were separated by distance but remained good friends over all those years. Emile and I enjoyed our yearly visits to Regina to visit family. I was always a pest and anxious to get my hair done as soon as I arrived home. Joan was kind enough over the years to give me multiple highlites, perms and haircuts. She was always my favorite hair stylist! I will remember all the good times our family had together often hosted by Joan and Courtney on Woodward ave. Our thoughts are with Darren and Leanne and their families. Courtney left us much too early and I know that he and Joan are now having lively conversations as she fills him in on all that has happened over the years! ❤️
