Obituary of Alan Larry Walters

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Larry in the early hours of May 7, 2022, with his children at his side. Larry was diagnosed with cancer in early January 2022.  Although his battle was short, he faced his diagnosis with incredible grace and strength. His spirit and love of life will live on.

Larry was predeceased by his beloved wife of 41 years, Donna (2015); his dad Gabriel (1987); his mom Lena (2018); and his brother and best friend Darrell (2021).  Larry leaves to mourn his son Heath (Ashlee) and granddaughter Olivia; daughter Heidi (Ryan) and grandchildren Greyson and Paisley; his sisters Lorraine, and Sharon (John); brother Aaron (Lisa); sister-in-law Brenda and their extended families; along with his many friends made along the way.

Larry was a gregarious man with a huge laugh.  He always had a grin and a twinkle in his eyes.  He loved his family, pets, trucks, and country music, along with a little AC/DC on the side. Nothing gave Larry more pleasure than being surrounded by his kids, grandkids, grand dogs, and grand cats.  He loved to read and held a broad knowledge in a variety of subjects, enabling him to engage in spirited debates about the events of the day.

Special thanks to the Pasqua Hospital Palliative Care Unit, and Wascana Grace Hospice.  Your compassionate care of Larry will not be forgotten.

Memorial Service will be held at the Speers Family Centre, 2333 Cornwall Street, Regina, SK, on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. At the family’s request, please wear your favorite jeans and boots – that would make Larry smile.
