Paul Kobayashi

Obituary of Paul David Kobayashi

Paul David Kobayashi, late of Regina, passed away on May 14, 2022, at the age of 51.  Paul was predeceased by his dad, George Kobayashi, paternal grandparents Take and Kinjiro Kobayashi, maternal grandparents Christine and Tom Inglis, as well as his beloved Auntie Irene and Uncles Jun, Leo, and Harry. Left to cherish his memory are his mom, Marie Bradley (Rae), sisters Dawn Kobayashi (Rod, Bowen, and Kennedy Pisula) and Cindy Kobayashi (Shaun and Kellan Belt), his three children who he loved immensely, Hailey, Kayla, and Jacob Kobayashi, his dog Tigger who was his world, along with many cousins, family members, and friends.

Paul went to high school at Robert Usher Collegiate and attended the University of Regina as well as SIAST.  Paul worked for many different companies over the years including SaskTel, Startek, Wells Fargo, Bobcat of Regina, Village of Buena Vista, J&R Construction, Town of Regina Beach, and Hunters Construction.  He was most proud of his career at Epcor.  We are so thankful for the care and support he received from Epcor, especially from his manager Joe, and from all his colleagues during a very difficult time in his life.

Paul took great pride in being a Volunteer Firefighter and Deputy Fire Chief at Regina Beach. He enjoyed watching his kids’ sports, dance, and activities, and loved coaching them in soccer, baseball, hockey, and rugby.  Paul was at home on the water, kayaking and paddleboarding and loved listening to music and spending time at Waskesiu.

Paul was a great athlete who excelled in any sport he played. Throughout his earlier years, he played hockey, baseball, volleyball, basketball and football. It was through rugby that Paul gained a camaraderie with great friends who were like family to him. Through his many years of Rugby, Paul played for the Campion Grads, Team Sask Senior Mens, Sask U19, U21 and U23.  Paul also played in the Western Canada Summer Games and with the Saskatchewan Prairie Fire.

A celebration of Paul’s life will be held at the Regina Rugby Clubhouse at 4025 25th Ave on Friday, July 8th beginning at 6:30pm with a brief program at 7:00 pm.  Following that, friends and family are welcome to stay for a true celebration of his life, the way Paul would have wanted.

Donations in Paul’s memory can be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association Regina Branch or to Mobile Crisis.

Paul’s memory will forever be carried by all knew and loved him.
