Obituary of Patricia Julianna Kalenchuk
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Pat (Patricia) Kalenchuk. Pat was predeceased by her parents Peter and Julia Oruski; her brother Allen Oruski; and father and mother in law John and Mae Kalenchuk. Pat is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 45 years, Danny; sons Jared (Heather) Kalenchuk and Ryan (Katie) Kalenchuk; grandchildren Paisley and Sawyer; sisters-in-law Sandra Oruski, Bernice (Jim) Tratch and Lorie (Mark) Kalenchuk; brothers-in-law Eugene (Pat) Kalenchuk, Glen (Janet) Kalenchuk and Kelly (Glenda) Kalenchuk; many nieces, nephews, and a large number of friends. Pat spent most of her adult life working with the Co-Operators in Regina drawn to its’ values, where she met many great friends. Throughout her career she was able to take on roles that leveraged her natural analytic nature until her retirement. Pat was a vibrant, loving, caring person who enjoyed spending as much time outdoors as she could. At home she loved to spend her time tending to her many flower beds, pots and large garden. She enjoyed camping as it was another opportunity to spend more time outside and nights by the fire roasting marshmallows with a cold beverage. Pat loved to shop and had an uncanny ability to find a great bargain. Pat had many hobbies and always enjoyed a chance to be creative, from painting, cross-stitching to crocheting winter wear, blankets and even stuffed animals. Another passion for her was cooking, anytime you went to her house for a meal you were sure to leave with a full belly, a container of leftovers and an equally full heart. Pat treasured spending time with her family especially her granddaughters, teaching them about flowers and gardening, taking them on walks or to the park, watching them in their many activities and of course sharing the occasional sweet treat. The family would like to thank Dr. Brent Jim, Dr. Baumann, as well as the outstanding team at Regina Wascana Grace Hospice for their amazing care and compassion for Pat and the family along her journey.
A private memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memoriam to the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation or Regina Wascana Grace Hospice.
