Obituary of Jeanette Emilia Runge

Jeanette Emilia Runge (née Flaman) of Regina, SK, passed away quietly and peacefully on May 22, 2022 at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina, SK, at the age of 87 years. Jeanette was predeceased by her husband Ken. Left to cherish her memory and celebrate her life are her two sons: Trent (Lorilee) Runge and Trevor (Esmer) Runge; as well as grandsons Cole (Aimee; Ryan and Amara) Runge and Ethan (Sarah Jean) Runge; brothers Wilf Flaman and Rob Flaman; brother-in-law Wilf (Shirley) Runge; and several nieces and nephews.   A physically fit and athletic young woman, Jeanette was a skilled shortstop when she played organized softball in the Saskatchewan Woman's League in the late 1940's/early 1950's. In later years, as a grandmother to Cole and Ethan, she enjoyed attending their competitive soccer and swim meets.   Jeanette had a love for "Old Tyme" music and dancing which, as a little girl, she learned from her parents and brothers - the German "Hop" Polka being one of her specialties! She enjoyed watching baseball, hockey, curling and football on tv, playing cards with her group of friends, and watching a good movie. She went walking every day she could, and was always up for a travel adventure, which included cruises and trips overseas with Trevor. A service of remembrance will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK, on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. Private family interment will be held at Regina Cemetery. We would like to thank all of Jeanette's friends and caregivers who provided help, support, friendship and compassion to her, especially over the past several months at College Park II Retirement Residence and during her last day at Pasqua Hospital.
