Bette Gray

Obituary of Bette Gray

On Sunday, May 29, 2022 "Bette" passed away peacefully at the age of 93. Predeceased by husband Don; infant son Kirby; brothers John and Reg; and special friend Curly Bradbury. Bette is survived by sons Perry (Sandra), and Glenn four grandchildren, Danielle (Ryan), Kristin (Colby), Sydney, and Colby; brother David (Betsy); sisters, Jean Taylor, who recently passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022, and Margaret Furgason.

Bette was born in Cannington Manor, SK, but lived most of her life in Regina. She spent most of those years in the family home on Regina Avenue and then for the last few years at Wintergreen Estates.

Bette loved to walk and could often be found doing so; first to and from her job working for the Federal Government, then post retirement to the grocery store, to meet with friends at the Golden Mile or just along the bike paths or around Wascana Lake. She took two walks a day, rain or shine, right to her final day. Bette also loved to travel. She went to many places all around the world, seeing everything there was to see, meeting lots of people and making new friends along the way.

Bette was well renowned for her baking. When you went to Bette’s place, or if she came to yours, you could always count on having some sort of amazing baked treat. Amongst her family, cheese buns, pecan pie, butter tarts, German Twists and “Gramma Gray Oatmeal Cookies” will be missed the most. Bette also had a passion for wine making. Her bottling events with family and friends were held often, always including lots of food, drink, and laughter…oh how Bette loved to laugh!

Bette will be missed by all who met her, but we should all take comfort in knowing that she’s up in heaven reunited with all who’ve gone before her enjoying a glass of red!

As requested by Bette, there will be no funeral service. Donations in Bette's memory may be made to Regina and District Ostomy Society, 7631 Discovery Road, Regina, SK S4Y 1E3.
