Obituary of Leona Houle

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our Mom Leona Arlene Houle at her home in Cupar, Saskatchewan on June 1^st, 2022 at the age of 67 years.

Leona was predeceased by her parents Elizabeth and Adelard Houle. Her husband Emil (Bertalon); her brothers Joseph, Bob, Lloyd; and sisters Lillian, Diane, Irene, Bernice and Matilda.

Left to mourn and cherish her memories is her partner George “Rick” Kerr; her children Kevin, Rita (Del), Clinton and Jill (Steeve); grand-children Angelica, Austin, Sean, Akiva, Kevin Jr and grand-daughter Emma; siblings Elizabeth (Jim) and Eddy (Claudia); step children Melissa (Barrett), Angie, and Scott; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She cherished having family and friends over, our Mom was a wonderful cook who loved to feed everyone who stopped by, even if it was a surprise visit. Guests grew accustomed to her amazing meals and always felt welcomed into her home and would often leave with a care package of extra baking to satisfy that extra craving on the way home. That passion for cooking is shared by her children and her grand-children.

Besides her great love for cooking; gardening, canning, thrift shopping and of course bingo were among her favorite activities.

Her love for her family and caring personality was felt by everyone. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
