I remember Betty as a kind loving and special person. She really touched my heart. Her service on Sunday was beautiful and brought tears to my eyes. Betty appreciated everyone.

I will always remember Aunty Betty as one of the most pleasant and positive people I knew through my childhood years in Portreeve. I enjoyed being around her, Uncle Walter and their children, first cousins of me and my siblings. Although it wasn’t as frequent as it should have been, in later years my own family and I occasionally stopped in to visit Betty and Walter at their home in Regina. Auntie Betty was always so delighted to see us. She made us feel good. I’m sorry that she’s gone. She’ll be missed very much. But, I’m happy that she enjoyed reasonably good health and a solid mind through nearly all of her almost 95 years. I’m happy for her that she ended her days, not in the hospital but at home with family. And here’s a little tidbit of trivia I hope amuses those who read it. Aunty Betty always reminded me of the actress, Jessica Lang.

Our condolences to the Powell family. My name is Helen Sinclair, daughter of Rose and John Meyer from Lancer.
I remember Betty and Walter. Our mom did pretty much the same things as Betty, assisting with the farming, gardening,
worked in a bar, grocery store etc.etc. Betty was a very soft spoken person and beatufil inside and out. I do remember you Joan
with your long blond hair looking so much like your mom. Both our parents have passed on. We as children growing up
did the skating on a dugout near the garden, picking chokecherries in the Sandhills and quite often we would have an incident with the cactus. Sundays we also spent time at the South Saskatchewan River fishing.
Keep your memories close at heart.
Sincerely, The Rose and John Meyer Family

Betty, You are a gem and now a family jewel in heaven. I imagine you have already danced a few polkas with Walter. Your smile was like the Saskatchewan skies, your smile lite up the atmosphere and brought joy and sunshine everywhere. Joan and Terry loved to be around you and they loved you like you loved them. You are and will always be a shining example to others on how to live a happy and full life. I loved to sit with you and listen to polka music and look through your stamp collection. Thank you so much for enriching our lives, Anita Tuharsky and Marlen Dinovitzer
