Obituary of Jean Jane Peltier
Our beautiful mother and Matriarch, Jean Peltier passed away at home in her sleep early Saturday morning of June 18, 2022 with her granddaughter, Natasha (Picabo) by her side. Our mother was born May 20, 1942 and raised on White Bear First Nations but made her home in Regina Sk. She is a Residential School survivor, a shy quiet soul with one of the loudest laughs in the East end, and proud to be one of the many great-granddaughters of Chief White Bear. She loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping while growing up in her community of White Bear First Nations, wild meat, attending powwows, and a frequent visitor at the following: Bear Claw Casino, Casino Regina/Moose Jaw, Living Sky Casino and Sky Dancer Casino on the Turtle Mountain Chippewa Reservation, N.D, USA.
She was predeceased by her parents; John Peltier of Turtle Mountain Chippewa N.D., USA and Isabel (Bigstone) Peltier of White Bear First Nations; her partner Gordon Thompson of CTK; son Alvin Mac Lonechild; grandson Jefferey Donald Kakakeway; daughter Pamela Beverley Lonechild; granddaughter Tabitha Marie Lonechild; sisters Lydia Peltier, Eleanor Bigstone Buffalo Calf, and Nancy Peltier; brothers Raymond, John and Gordon Peltier.
Jean is survived by her children Irene (Bill), Gilbert (Wanda), Kim (Delmyra), Clarence, Madeline (Ivan), Dale (Jana) and Kelvin; adopted son Jerry Shepherd; grandchildren Morgan, Natasha, Michael, Prairie, Summer, Tynel, Josh, Trenton, Dakota, Greycloud, Tyrel, Belle, Andrew, Autumn, Tanya, Marty, Eric, Robyn, Jayden, Tayvin, and Kelly; also 21 great-grandchildren, one newcomer in August; nieces and nephews of the Thompson, Buffalo Calf, Mosquito, Oakes and Peltier families (USA); special nephew Chauch Thompson; friends from her home at the Lovering Place (especially Linda and Myrna); friends from ICF; and her telephone buddies - You know who you are.
