Our family knew Barry and Beverly as neighbors through our children's Wishart elementary school and became instant friends over what seemed to be a very short time .. Bryan was a later addition to their loving family and of course the age difference to not include him as a junior byi girlie interests of the three outnumbered him... Friendships quickly were cemented with two very interesting trips to Meadow Lake by us had a lot of fum . BBQ iover an open pit fire was very cool for the five kids of hot dogs and marshmallows the huge backyard of Meadow Lake.A trip was a must to Battleford to see their favorite comedian Jim Cary's big film hit in the 1990's. and wave pool and provincial park ..It seems strange that both Alyssa and Lisa's career seem at times to dovetail in similarity with plane trips to near and distant work seminars but different jobs.
My son talked of the time Barry Bryan and he went fishing in one of Meadow Lake's popular spots for fishing. I bought a fishing rod which Barry did not think much of since it snapped apart. No problem Barry remedied it and many fish were caught .I think this encouraged lawrence then about ten years old to embark on fishing here in o Victoria's many lakes complete for fishing gear such as hip waders,,life vest whistle LOL a fsiherman's flotation ring for awhile. Thanks to Barry .He appeared to be a very friendly no nonsense in charge personality, but full of admiration and respect for others.. Another clear memory I have is of them having dinner with us in Victoria at our house all niine persons crammed around a large oak table . .Kyla was unhappy for whatever reason and Barry took notice.He told her to why she was so cranky and made her get up from the dinner to find out why the two alone for half an hour to ogo out to his car to discover why .She came back a new happy~~~ girl Way to go Barry!!! You had that special gift of knowing instantly what and how to remedy any situation ..I was really impressed with his candor in any situations My condolences extend to the whole family of Bev, the children, grandkids, brother Mike and sister Barb and their children, and friends Hugs to all Dale Poeckert .
