It is with great sadness that Jmelda’s family announces her passing peacefully on Friday, July 1, 2022 at the age of 98 years. Jmelda was born in Lauterbach, Germany on July 17, 1923. She was predeceased by her husband John (1985); daughter Sonya; son Alfonse; and daughter-in-law Judy. Jmelda is survived by her remaining 6 children: Angela, John (Gwen), Bernie (Susan), Ursula (Ray), Elona (Wayne), Anita, and son-in-law Doug; her 13 grandchildren: Christopher, Tamara (Cory), Tasha (Jesse), Derek (Kari,), Lisa, Nathan (Elissa), Shaun (Sue Ellen), Sara (Kevin), Jennifer, Jessica (Sean), Paul, Chelsea (Chad), and Jeremy; 15 great-grandchildren: Taisja, Kylie, Sable, Harvey, Odessa, Gavin, Hudson, Peyton, Felicity, Savanna, Parker, Nikolas, Austin, Cameron, and Isabella; as well as many other extended family and friends. All will miss her great sense of humour, her devotion to family and friends, and her caring attitude, which carried through her work and volunteering at Pasqua Hospital through the years. Her favourite past times were playing checkers, singing, and playing cards with her family. Jmelda leaves a tremendous legacy and many memories behind. We love you mom (Oma). A private Family Service will be held at a later date.
