Our Beloved Wife and Mother, Viola Ilana Kleininger, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2022 at the age of 85 years. We take comfort that our Dad and Sister were with mom when she passed. Mom leaves behind her husband of 61 years, Roy Kleininger; daughters Nancy (Hugh), Tracy (Neil); and son Kevin (Leann). Mom cherished her seven grandchildren: Jenny, Sydney, Hannah, Sarah, Alex (Jana), Ashton (Leana) and Brennan (Daylin); and the best day ever was when she met her great-grandson, Kylo.

Mom was born in Raymond, AB, to Michael and Rosalia Szeles. She was the middle child with an older brother, Chester, and younger sister, Mary. Both parents passed when mom was eight and she was adopted by Annette and Clarence Burkholder. She was much loved by the Burkholders and she them.

Mom graduated from St. Michaels Hospital, School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse and for most of her career, she specialized in geriatric nursing. It was when she was nursing in Claresholm, AB, she met young RCMP Cst. Roy Kleininger. Dad knew he was going to marry Mom from the moment he saw her, and their long marriage proved that he was correct. Mom's extended family grew when she married dad as he had six siblings: Margaret, Charles, Gladys, Rose Marie, Betty and June.

Mom's family was everything to her and their home in Regina was the hub for the family. Many family get-togethers will be remembered with love. As the children married, mom embraced the spouses and immediately they became part of the “Kleininger” family.

Mom and Dad had many adventures over the years whether it was moving when Dad was transferred or traveling for fun. There were many trips: Alaska; Hawaii; to their condo in Columbia Falls, MT; Palm Springs; cruises to Panama and Alaska; bus trip to Branson; camping in the Yukon; and many places in Canada to visit family. Mom and Dad made many friends over the years and these treasured people remained in our lives.

Mom had a full and wonderful life; she will be missed greatly but treasured always in our memories.

Thank you to the Bengough Long Term Care for taking such wonderful care of Mom.

Thank you to the EMTs for their kindness and compassion.

Thank you to Cst. Brian Holmes of the Radville Det.
