MAIER, Emilia “Millie”

April 17, 1924 – August 10, 2022

Emilia “Millie” Maier of Regina passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at the age of 98 years at Regina Wascana Grace Hospice. Millie was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Peter. She was also predeceased by parents Albert and Wilhelmine (nee Lang) Deutscher; sisters Martha Leibham, Margaret Tanouye, and Shirley Anne Deutscher; and brothers Fred Deutscher and Willie Deutscher. Left to mourn are Millie’s son Dan (Donna) Maier of Regina and their children: Marian Maier (Ian Pritchard) of Regina, Jennifer Maier (Jay DelMarr) of Montreal, QC, Rebecca Maier (Zak Hanane) of Regina and their child: Aïda Maier-Hanane; daughter Cathy (Steve) Horvath of St. Albert, AB and their children: Julia Horvath of Victoria, BC, Janet Horvath of Fort McMurray, AB and her children: Olivia, Callum, Erika, and Curtis Newton, and Steven (Elise) Horvath of Stony Plain, AB; son Jim (Cheryl) Maier of Regina and their children: Miles of Regina and his daughter: Olivia Maier-McFadden, and April Maier (Aaron Frederick) of Campbell River, BC; and son Peter Jr. of Regina, who was Millie’s primary care-giver for the last number of years. Millie is also survived by brothers Ed Deutscher of Regina, and Bob Deutscher of Calgary, AB; sister-in-law Pat Maier of Delta, BC; several nieces and nephews; and special niece Donna Mae West of Regina. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Rosary Cathedral, 3125 – 13th Avenue, Regina, SK, on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. with an interment to follow at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, 815 Assiniboine Avenue East, Regina, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Millie’s name to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, 150 Albert Street, Regina, SK S4R 2N2 or Regina Wascana Grace Hospice, 50 Angus Road, Regina, SK S4R 8P6.
