I was Bernie’s ex girlfriend from Estevan he was a great man and we parted friends. He was my love an my best friend but life took us in different directions. I’m so sad to find out he had past. I was going to get ahold of Bernie when my dad passed in April as they were friends. We travelled together a lot to the US he always said he loved it in the States. I recall going with him in his Kenworth hauling scrap metal. His picture made me cry as I bought him that shirt. He never changed a bit he was quite the character. I even had the opportunity to talk to his mother when she was still on her own in Raymore. I was with him when she passed. I only saw him cry twice once when he told a story of his dad an again when his mom passed. He was a great son. He talked lots about his sister an her husband great memories he shared with me. I will miss you Bernie may you rest easy!

We farmed back at Edgebrook beside Bernie but have not seen him much these last years. We will remember him with that smile on his face, black hair and distinctive voice! He was always happy. May he Rest in Peace! Doug and Denise Baker

Cousin Marie,Gerald and family our sincere condolences. When me,my husband & children would visit Aunty an Unkl at the farm and Buggs (Bernard) was home he’d be so mischievous with me and my kids and we’d have so much fun and laughs together So I decided to get the last laugh , I put an egg in one of his boots before we left and later on in a letter that Aunty Em had written to me , she told me that she heard a very loud shout out of an expletive word that Buggs had found my egg ..He will be missed by all of us Cousin Elaine (Cherwinski) husband Dave Furda and fmly from Winnipeg
