Obituary of Neil Allan Schulhauser

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Neil Schulhauser (Beaver) after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 68 years. On September 24, 2022, dad was called to heaven to join his father Edwin, mother Jean, brother Kenneth and his special puppy Hermie.

He will be deeply missed by all his friends, family, and loving spouse Shawn Anderson, who he loved very much.

Neil’s giving soul, contagious smile, love for hockey, cars and Pepsi, will continue through his sons Lindsay and Justin (Sara) Schulhauser; daughter Amanda (Tyler) Krenbrink; and his “putz” Danton Soloducha. His energy, kind heart and love will remain in his grandchildren who he fought so hard for and loved so much, Cole (Brooklyn), Aiden, Kaydence, Halle, Mila and Willa.

Neil was born on October 15, 1953, in Regina, Saskatchewan. He went to elementary school in Dysart and later moved to Cupar, Saskatchewan to finish school, play hockey and start his trucking business. Neil’s passion for the town of Cupar and the Cupar Canucks did not go unnoticed. He was a volunteer on every committee and offered his help anywhere and everywhere he could. If one of the Canucks needed skates, a stick or fuel to get to a game he was always there to provide. If they needed a place to stay, a meal or beer after the game, dad was always the first to offer. Neil played for the Cupar Canucks for 26 years and had a tough time retiring. If his body would have kept up to his mind, he would probably still be on the bench.

If there was a car show or snowmobile derby in town, you always knew who was behind the organizing of it. Dad loved to tinker on vehicles and had a list of projects to do. He was still buying parts for his projects and snowmobiles right until his last days.

Our family would like to thank Unit 3A at the Pasqua Hospital and all the love he received from the amazing nurses and doctors. We would also like to thank all his friends and family who visited and told stories to provide us comfort during this very difficult time.

We will miss you every day #9!

Donations may be made in honour of Neil to the Pasqua Hospital - Palliative Care Unit, 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, Saskatchewan, S4T 7T1 or the Cupar Snowmobile Club at csc@sasktel.net.

Memorial Service to honor Neil will be held at the St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, 801 Qu'Appelle Avenue, Cupar SK, on Friday, September 30, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. The service will be broadcast locally by 106.9 FM transmitter. A social to follow at the Cupar Town Hall.
