Obituary of Ernest Andrew Buzash

It is with heavy and sorrow-filled hearts we announce the sudden passing of Ernest (Ernie)  Andrew Buzash on Monday October 16, 2022.  Ernie was just eight-days shy of his 83^rd birthday and 63^rd wedding anniversary. He is predeceased by his parents; Andrew and Anne Buzash; brothers: Albert, Jim, Art and Frank.  He leaves to mourn his loving wife, Ann and his four children: Rhonda (Ernst) Gelowicz, Glenn (Sophia) Buzash, Greg (Kelly) Buzash, Trenna (Laszlo) Horvath;  his nine grandchildren: Jennifer, Jaclyn, William, Cassandra, Alex, Tysen, Anna, Ella and Klara; two great grandchildren Maya and Veda; his siblings Betty Buzash Draper and Steve Buzash; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ernie was born in Regina, SK on October 24, 1939 to a gifted musical family.  The family’s love of music gained them international recording stardom and a gold record for their cultural European music.  The band “Betty and Her Brothers Five” were well know in Saskatchewan in the 60’s and 70’s. Ernie married Ann Monteyne on his birthday in 1959 and together they raised their family in Regina.  He lived his life to the fullest.  His profession in Regina was that of a Journeyman, red-seal painter with the government and later worked at the Plains Health Centre.  He excelled in his trade and was successful in achieving an amazing opportunity to not only create a competency-based painting and decorating program but to teach this journeyman certification class at SIAST in Regina and Weyburn as well. Ernie retired at 55 years old and enjoyed life to the fullest at Regina Beach, then to condo living in his beloved “east end” of Regina.  He will be remembered for his hilarious story telling, his warmth, kindness, and the giving nature he had for his friends, family, and his cats.  He was quite the artist; his talent led him to build unique birdhouses that had special meaning for his friends and family.  He was an amazing cook and always had homemade Hungarian sausage and cabbage rolls on hand in case visitors arrived.  Ernie was a remarkable man who inspired his children with his family values and work ethics.  He was a kind and considerate husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.  He will always be remembered for his giving nature and the help he gave to anyone who needed it. His family defined who he was, and he lived for them.  Every day he reached out to his family and every day he told us how much he loved us.  He was so proud of his family.  We knew it and we felt his love.  He-will-be-missed.
