Obituary of Anna Gobelt

Anna passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at the age of 98 years, with her family at her side. She was predeceased by her husband Frank of 71 years; parents Georg and Theresia; brother Hannes (Elfriede); sister Kathie (Johann); parents-in-law, Josef and Barbara; and sister-in-law Eva.

Anna will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Barbara (Walter) Gamble, Linda Gobelt, and Darlene (Brad) Klinger; grandchildren, Marie (Matt Greenaway) Gamble, Ben Gamble, Matthew Klinger, and Scott (Patricia) Klinger; brother-in-law Toni Rest; and nieces in Germany.

Anna was born in Bátaszék, Hungary. She relocated to Germany where she married Frank in 1950. They immigrated to Canada in 1951, settling in the Saltcoats area before moving to Regina.  Anna worked as a seamstress until she stayed at home to care for her family.

Throughout her life Anna was devoted to her faith and she loved travelling to Germany and Hawaii.  Anna’s happy place was at the family cottage at Sunset Cove where she enjoyed her summers listening to the birds and enjoying the flowers. She used her seamstress talents to sew many outfits for her family, and many quilts that we will all cherish. Anna liked to cook, garden, go for walks, dance, and spend time with family and friends.

Ever remembered and loved as a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend.

Prayers will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 2026 Winnipeg Street on Friday, November 18, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. To view the livestream of the service, please click on the link above which will be made active on the day of the service.
